It is a pleasure for us to see that more and more people are developing an interest and a liking for playing early music on authentic instruments. The town of Szombathely is now offering a chance, now for the third time, to serve as a meeting point for people who enjoy playing Renaissance and Baroque music. This year, the Early Music Summer Workshop will be organised at a new venue: among the ancient walls of the baroque Franciscan monastery, built on mediaeval foundations and standing in the centre of the town, which functions today as a hall of residence and bears the name of St Francis of Assisi.
